ChickTech High School Announces Kickoff Weekend at Google in November

ChickTech Austin is pleased to announce its inaugural program kickoff weekend at Google, 9606 North MoPac Expressway, on November 12th and 13th.

ChickTech: High School is a free yearlong program that introduces 100 high school girls to technology and the local tech community. After the kickoff event, the program continues with events that offer a fun, positive learning experience designed to build confidence, provide mentors and role models, and create a positive association with technology. ChickTech: High School will cost nothing to the participants, who will be provided transportation, food, and child care for those who need it.

Teens Empower will be keynoting the first day of the kickoff event. Girls will then get to choose from a number of hands-on workshop topics, including:

Soft Circuits
Game Design
Web Dev
Video Editing
Building a computer

ChickTech Austin has accepted teacher nominations for students across the Austin area, who will participate in mentoring opportunities and technology career exposure throughout the school year.
